Dame Prue Leith in Babka

Broadcaster, author and culinary icon Dame Prue Leith has teamed up with Modstyle Eyewear to launch a playful and personality-led new collection of optical frames inspired by one of Leith’s greatest passions: cake!

A light-hearted nod to Dame Prue’s lifelong love of baking and her belief that style should never take itself too seriously, each frame is named after a favourite cake, including Angel, Babka and Bienenstich.

Launching at 100% Optical in London, she said she is “beyond delighted” with her new specs. “They’re full of colour, beautifully designed and incredibly comfortable; funky but still classy. I regard my specs as jewellery and I loved being able to steer the design, choose the colours and suggest the shapes. These are truly my best specs yet.”

Mark Wymond, Modstyle CEO, said the whole experience has been very rewarding. “Prue and her team have been a joy to collaborate with! The whole team has brought their own unique skillset to the table, which has pushed colour in eyewear to a new level.”

The collection features 20 colourful acetate styles, each available in five colourways, creating 100 unique colour options across the range, Wymond said.

Currently stocked by approximately 200 independent opticians across the UK and Ireland, Modstyle has ambitious plans to triple its stockist base within the first year, he said, reflecting strong early demand and Wymond’s confidence in the range.

Eyes Right Optical will distribute the Prue Leith Eyewear Collection in Australia, New Zealand and the US.
