Having served eyecare professionals in New Zealand and Australia for 20 years through distribution partners, Optopol is now stepping up its commitment to the region with the establishment of Optopol ANZ.

Optopol already has a direct-to-market distribution model in Europe and the US and it’s a natural progression to expand this model into highly successful markets like New Zealand and Australia, said Craig Norman, newly appointed general manager for Optopol in New Zealand.

Having worked with Optopol supporting the REVO OCT and PTS Automated Perimeter ranges for the past 12 years as a distributor, Norman, formerly with Optimed NZ, said he is very excited by this opportunity. “We see ourselves not only as a technology provider but as a trusted partner to eyecare professionals. Now that we are a direct representative of the manufacturer locally, it introduces more benefits, value and support that can be passed on to customers in our market.”

In New Zealand, Norman is supported by field service technician Chris Simonson, while CEO John Larkin and director Will Robertson will be based in Australia. “Chris has a great reputation and respect in New Zealand for reliable, friendly service with loads of experience, having spent the past 12 years working with Optopol products,” Norman said.

Optopol ANZ will now serve as the exclusive sales and service point of contact for both the ophthalmic and optometric markets and it will manage and honour all existing manufacturer warranties for independent customers, he said. “We believe strong partnerships are built on more than technology alone. Our role is to support clinicians with reliable diagnostic solutions and responsive local service, helping practices across New Zealand and Australia deliver confident care every day.”
